OBJECTIONS TO
OVER 700 IN WELLINGTON CITY. The Assessment Court presided by Mr. V. G. Day, which is to commence its sittings in Wellington on July 20, is likely to have, a fairly busy time. The number of objections to the recent valuations in Wellington City number 737. This does not mean that that number of property-owners is objecting. as in some instances a single owner of several properties is objecting to the valuation of each; nor does it mean that all the property-owners are objecting to the valuations being too high, as in a proportion of instances the objection is to tho value of the or the improvements bring too low. These will also be a proportion of objectors who will not go to the Court at all. It is understood that in the case of Auckland very few rectactions in value were authorised, and in those few the amounts allowed ware inconsiderable.
