FATAL FALL FROM TRAP

»ACCIDENT ON HUTT ROAD. An accident resulting in the death of a man thought to bo William Noble, a woodcutter, residing at,the Summit, occurred on the Hutt Road, near the Vacuum Oil Company’s warehouse yesterday afternoon between 3 and 4 o’clock. It appears that the deceased fell out of a trap which ho was driving towards Petone, and sustained fatal injuries to his head. Ho died on tho way to the Hospital. 1 The deceased was not identified yesterday except by a letter which was found in his clothing, and which was presumed to be addressed to him. Mr. Leslie Norton, of Moana Road, Day’s Bay, informed the police by telephone that .he had witnessed the accident. He eaid that •the horse drawing the trap was cantering, and the deceased, who was sitting at the left ride,. lurched and fell on to the road, landing on his head. He never moved after tho fall.
