JOHNSONVIMiE OIiTJB. ' The opening of the .Tohnsonvllle bowling green took place ou Saturday. With two or three exceptions afl fhe lowlers of the club were present, and thero was a. law attendance of- visitors. ■ 'Hie presidoht (Mr. Dunbar SJoane) welcomed the visitors and bowlers. He hoped the club would' have a successful season, ■ both iu the- "ames upon their own green and in.the contusts with other clubß, and for the, centre events tor which they had entered. He voiced the regret of the memberß of the loss since the opening' of last year of the late Dr. Saunders and the late John Rod, who had been prominent members of the club, and their sympathies were citended to the relatives. Jfr. Sloanc considered that the future prospects of the club wenvery good, and was every reason to believe that the number of members would lbe appreciably increased. He wished bowlers and visitors would have a pleasant afternoon, and in conclusion called.upon hiß little daughter- lletty to throw the jack up the green.
