.. GUARANTEE FUND. London, August 8. The House of Commons adopted a rcoolution ! authorising the payment c<f ,£11)0,000 as the Government's share of the guarantee fund in connection with the forthcoming-British Empire Exhibition. Mr. ICelluway, in moving the resolution, said thore was no bettor wuy cf celebratng tho great part played by the Empire in the war than the holding in London ! of this Exhibition or the Empire's manifold resources and the activities of its peoples. The guarantee was conditional on a guarantee of half n million being forthcoming from private sources. There was every reason to believe that this snm would be found. It was necessary that out manufacturers should find new markets, a,nd our greatest' hope for this being realised lay in the Empire.—Reuter.
