RETURNED SOLDIERS
THE NEW CLUBHOUSE. t A meeting of the Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association was held last night, Mr. W. Perry presiding. The chairman announced that it was hoped to take over the new clubhouse pre. mises in Featherston Street about tns end of the present month. Most of the tenants in the building had received notice to quit, and those who were not leaving had had their rents raised. The clubhouse society > was being wound up, and was handing over a sum of -£1800 to tbe W.It.S.A., and this money would be available for expenditure on the new premises. On the motion of Mr. Perry, seconded by Mr. A. B. Sievwright, a .hearty vote of thanks was passed to the civilian members of the Clubhouse Society for the good work they lwve done on behalf of returned soldiers during the last iivo years. Mr. M. W. Cummins was electcd treasurer of the association, vice Mr. T. 11. Jones, resigned. Mr. A. Kyle was electcd to fill a vacancy on.tlie committee, caused by the resignation of Mr. W. G. Morpeth.
