The weather was line, and the ground in good coiulilion. There was an attendance of 4000 spectators. Wellington gave « good exhibition or [ back play in the first spell, but the iving Country defence was sound. SI. Nicliolls, i in a passing- rush, cut. in and scored. Ho also converted. Wellington 5, King Country nil. Vrom forward play, following on a passing rush, Ileal scored. Wellington 5, King Couutry 3. Calcinai eluded the' defence, and scored. H. Nicholls eonverted. AVoilingtoii 10, King Country :). There was no score- in the second spell, which favoured King Country, who cross-, ed the Wellington line twice, hut failed to score. In addition to the l'etone v. l'oncke game on the Park on Saturday, a special match will be played at 1.30 p.m. between the Victoria and Auckland Universities.
