BURNED TO DEATH
OCTOGENARIAN'S TRAGIC END. Br TolcEraDh—Preps Association. Thames, August 9. Mrs. Varney, aged eighty years, a widow living alone, was burned to death in a fire which occurred early this morning in a four-roomed dwelling occupied bv her. The house was destroyed. It was situated beyond tho water tmpply area, and though a bucket brigade was formed it was impossible to save tho houso or enter the dwelling. Thero were no insurances on tho house or eonton la.
