METROPOLITAN TROTS POSTPONED,
Br Telegraph—Press Association. Ghrlstohurch, August 8. Quite the heaviest rainfall of this winter set in on Friday evening, and gives littlo prospect of clearing. Tho coinmitteo of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club met early, and decided to postpone the opening day of Kb August meeting till Monday, a decision that met with general approval. The Addmgton track is treacherous when the hurface is wet, and to have raced *n it to-day would have been dangerous to the competitors. A message dispatched from Ohristchurch at 5 p.m. on Saturday states: Tho weather continues wet and cold. The lliccarton and Addingtpn tracks will be very heavy during the weok.
