NEW ZEALANDERS INVITED TO ATTEND. From Our flpccial Correspondents. Palmerston North, July '20. At the meeting of tho Mauawatu and West Coast A. anil P. Association Committee to-day, a letter was received from tho Director-General of Agriculture covering ft copy of a letter from tho American Consul-General at Auckland on behalf of the Department of State, Washington, requesting the Minister of Agriculture to extend to tho dairying interests of Now Zealand an invitation to attend and take part in the National Dairy and Farm Show and Child Welfare Exposition to be held in tho International Amphitheatre, Chicago, from October 7 to IG. In the course of his letter the Consul-General wrote; "This is expected, to bo the largest gathering of the dairy interests ever brought together in tho United States. The scope of tho exposition is very general, and is intended to become a regular annual gathering of tho dairy interests at Home. This year's show is to cover a wide range of interests with exhibits of livo stock from tho leading herds in the United States; dairy products, dairy and farm machinery of all kinds, which will bo demonstrated; electrical appliances, etc. Tho topics under discussion will be educational developments bearing on the dairy industry and Child Welfare Department. Different local conventions will bo held, such as eattlo associations, butter-makers' associations, milk producers' associations, and sanitary associations. 'Phis exposition in its entirety i.s open to the service of the entire world. The United Statc9 Government and tho dairy .industry sincerely hope thnt tho people of the world will bo able to take advantage of this general exposition and to reap, benefits therefrom. Please make it clear that all the interests of the country ore invited to participate in this exposition, and that if this Consu-late-General can assist them further in any way we shall be glad to do so." A discussion took place as to whether tho matter of sending an envoy should be left in the hands of the Government, but ore the motion of Mr. J. M. Johnston, it was resolved: "That the matter of the Dominion being represented be referred to other A. and P. associations. breed societies, and tho National Daily Association for their opinion as to tho advisability of sending a delegate, and that the matter be brought up again at tho next meeting,"
