LAID BY PUIOE INVESTIGATION TRIBUNAL. ,

Nine informations alleging breaches of tho anti-profiteering section of the Board of Trade Act of. 1919 have been laid against two Christchurch firms, a Lyf> telton' firm, and a Christchurch chemist by the secretary of the local Prico Investigation Tribunal. Six of the nine liuormations have been laid against a xirm of tobacco importers and fancy goods merchants, and all relate to the alleged unreasonably high price charged for Clarence cigarettes. Another firm of merchants is being" proceeded against on a similar charge in respect of the same brand of cigarettes. A local chemist is being proceeded against for having, it is alleged, charged an unreasonably. iigh price fpr a "Winchester" (half a' gallon) of borol. This is a proprietary lino used as a mouthwash and disinfectant. A Lyttelton firm is to bo called upon to answer a charge of sell' Ing rabbit traps at n prico aliened to bo unreasonably high.
