Mr. William Anderson, of Hansen Street, has received news that his son, Ewart Gordon Anderson, has passed his final examination for F.R.CS., Edinburgh University. Dr. Anderson left Wellington in 1913 for London, and, after taking his degree in medicine, came back to New Zealand as medical oflicor on board the lonic. On completing the round trip he volunteered, and saw two years' active service with the 1t.A.11.t. in Eranoe, attaining the rank of captarn Siuco peaco was declared he has held several' important positions in leading hospitals in various parts of England. It is understood he intends returning to New Zealand shortly. Ho is an old Mount Cook School boy, and whale in Mr. John Castle's service qualified as a chemist and druggist.

Mr. S. A Longiiet has been appointed to represent the- Wellington Chamber of Commerce at the conference which is being convened to consider the Board of Trade Act.

Residents of Rosencath met in tho school on Friday for the purpose of makin" a presentation to Mr. 11. N. Mornson who has resigned tlio position of chairman of the School Committee, after having held tho Office for revcai year's. After a programme of vocal and instrumental music, Mr. Vau Borssum, who was in the chair, ashed Mr. Morrison to accept from the residents a goM watcu and chain as a token of the csfaem in which he is held. Mrs. 'Morrison was al6o made tho recipient of a gold brooch, Prior to the presentation a short but most enjovable programme of vocal and instrumental items was gone through, contributed to by tho Misses Dibley, Low and Nation, Mrs Tonge, and Messrs. Tloiichcn, Rex, Farrcll, and Halliburton. Mr. King presided at the piano.
