Locholla wafl well fancied in the Final Hurdles, and after a great finish he scored by a narrow margin. . The totalisator nut up record figures for a winter meeting at Trentham, and when the machine closed for the last race there was over £16.000 invested. Otaura Kid led over tho last fence, but in the run home Kerehone challenged him. and tho favourite only won by a head. Golden Petal was two lengths away, and then came Sir Agneß. Tho Liverpool Handicap saw several 01 the runners well in the market. Eymarty waßitho favourite at tho finish. Sho bo gan smartly, and led Astinomb and Royal Exchange into the courao proper. Parisian Diamond then appeared on the outside, and in a good finish ho beat Royal Exchange by a neck. Orowhurßt was a length away, and then came -Hymarty. Thero were seven runners in tho Hack Stueplcs, Bill and Sturdeo being the favourites. The race was a chapter of accidents. aa Notability ran oft and Mattock. Thompson persevered with his mount, and after a creat finish he won by a head. Nicomar finished, third a furlong away, and beat Ngakanui, who was ridden home by an outsider; , Molyneaux and Utuwai divided favouritism for tho Crofton Handicap, for which Sir Fanciful was the only withdrawal. The Digger led for two furlones, when liltlera took charge and led Morthencs and Ben Bolt into the straight. Two furlongs from home Printcmps moved Into the lead, but over the last fifty yards he had to bo kicked right out to beat Molynoaux, who finished within a neck of the winner. Ben Bolt was third, and then carae Bitters and Utuwai. The brncketod pair saw a very short prtco in the Steeples, in which Lochclla, Sturdee, and Wirokino were withdrawn. Harbour Light and Foeman made the running for a mile, when Foeman got. rid of his rider. At the wator jump the field was bunched, and Gladful took charge golnir out of tho straight, with First Line handy, and Guanaco moving up. Jlowti tho back the two- were together and were all hard at it. First Lino had tho mastery an tho-last fcnco was approached, and after a good finish he won by a length from Guanaco, with Gladful well bs.ck. Ormeßbj' fell. Dainty. Stop was favourite in the big handicap, but there waß plenty of support lor Gold Kin and soveral of the others.
