WAR-STRICKEN NATIONS
APPEAL BY I/ORD MAYOR OF LONDON. (Reo. July U, 7.35 p.m.) London, July 14. The Lord Mayor of London is appealing oil behalf of the Imperial W«i Relief Fund to combat disease and distress in the war-stricken areas of Europe and Asia. He says that a million sterling ia required immediately. Ho points out that for the fiist time India, the Dominions, and other possessions of.tho Croivn beyond the seas aro being invited to inalto common cause with the Mother Country in an unselfish campaign for the betterment of humanity. Ho emphasises Iho chances now presented of making an arresting demonstration in ths nnmo of the united British peoples for the solace and healing of the nations.— lleuter.
