NEW ZEALAND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE
Sir,—ln your issue of Saturday last was published a telegram from Auckland, under the heading, "Secession from Teachers' Institute." Eejorls of the meeting appearing in the Auckland papers indicate that the heading was misleading; and as it has actually been the cause of fairly general misapprehension, I should take it as a favour if you wo'uld allow me. to correct it. The new movement in Auckland do.es not represent a secession from the N.Z.8.1., but the establishment of a new association for the purpose of protecting the interests of Auckland .teachers, as distinct from the' general educational propaganda of the institute.—l am., etc., H. A. PARKINSON, Secretary, N.Z.E.I.
