AFFIRMATIONS
Sir,—At the opening of Parliament lasb week I .see from your paper that certain members were permitted to make an "affirmation" instead of taking the usual path, of allogianco to His Majesty the King. As this is an innovation as far as New Zealand is concerned, if you would 6tate the exact wording of this affirmation, you would much oblige.—l am, etc., CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTOR. [Members of Parliament who make an affirmation instead of taking the oath use almost the same words as if they had been sworn in the usual way. The wording of the affirmation is as follows:—"I, , do truly affirm and declare that I will be faithful and lienr true allegiance to His Majesty King George the Fifth."]
