PERSIA AND THE BOLSHEVIKS PRISONERS OF WAR IN " RUSSIA DIFFICULTY OF REPATRIATION 'By Telosraph-Prcia (Reo. June 18, 0.20 a.m.) London, Juno 16. A- publio meeting _ of the Council of the League of Nations was held in London, , i Lord Curzon, who presided described the correspondence exchanged between Persia ana the Bolshevist Government. Ho considered ithat Persia had acted rightly in negotiating with the Soviok and requested Princo Firouz to keep the Council informed of the course of events. .Dr., Nansen reported on the repatriation of prisoners of war, of whom ho said there were still a quarter of a million in Russia, and there was an equal number gf Russian prisoners throughout Europe. The difficulties of repatriation hitherto had been insurmountable. He hoped tho new route to the Baltic would enable the repatriation of six thousand to and from Russia 'before the, winter.— Reuter.
PRINCE FIROUZ DECLINES ANT COMPROMISE. Ltindon, June 15., . Prince Firouz, of Persia, had a conference with, the Secretary-General and the French representative on the League of Nations, but it is, understood that no solution of tho matter was reached. Prince Firouz declines any oompromiso which -would be unsatisfactory to the Persian Government. He considers that
it is for the League .to show, even at tho present early stage, its ability to deal with one of those very questions for which the' League was created — A.US.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
