Three games were played on the park, and attracted a fair number of spectators, including ladles. Hie match, Pelone v. Diamonds, which was set down to be played at the suburb, was postponed, but two teams (Institute and Brooklyn) journeyed out-to Porirua, to meet Hospital and Porirua United. Shortly after time sounded, the game resulting in a • draw-one each. Mr. • Colin Beid controlled the game.

INSTITUTE OLD BOl'S (2) v. HOSPITAL (1). Institute journeyed to Porinia, where they met the Hospital. The game from th*. outset was\yery fast. Institute forwards soon settled down, their combination being all that could be desired. Wallia and Ferguson were kept busy, and performed their task. well. The Hospital forward! Btrovo hard to make headway, but theInstitute halves seldom allowed them to become dangerous. Jl'Girr, who was playing a forceful 1 game, passed to Halley, who outwitted Ferguson, and sent in a shot at eipresa speed, Porteous bringing oil' a great save. Play was confined to niidfirtd for a. spell, but eventually Ferguson let Daly away, only to 6co~ him dispossessed by Bell. For a time Porteouß was kept busy, but saved all that'came his.way* Hospital then had an innings.' The combination of the Institute forwards wai gobd to watch, 'the'ball passing from player to player like clockwork, Smith finished up a- good run by passing to Porter,: .who again tested Porteous. the latter diving .full length across the goal, effecting a splendid save at the expense of a cor ner, which proved abortive. Institute again returned to the attack. Greenaway slipped the leather to Halley, 'who tricked two opponents, and Bent in a shot of the lightning order, which Porteous failed to hold/ Institute, lj Hospital, 0. ■ The scbra remained unaltered at half-time. \The second half opened with Hospital pressing, but a. shot was saved, by Porteous. Hospital returned to the attack, and hovered round Tarrant, but the efforts of; Hughel and Co, were always'frustrated at the critical moment. Hospital'were playing much better at this stage, mainly through the; effortß of. Kcardon and.Batten, -thn : former especially distinguishing himself on many occaslonß.. ll'Arthur, whose tackling waß good, let Smith away, his centre being sent behind by Houston.' From the kickoff Parity secured,, and passed to Halley, who raced ahead. Porteous ruehed out to saye, but Halley just'managed to net (ha ball before he came in contact'with Porteous. Both players were rendered hors de combat, Halley recovered, but Porteous had to be carried off the field. Institute, 2; Hospital, 0. Cobb came on, and guarded : tho Hospital citadel. «Daly and Tyrer made good progress, the latter scoring from a scrimmage in front of goal. Institute, 2; Hospital,!. Bell was the best back on the field, while Beardon, •M'Girr, and ll'Arthur were the pick of the halves. Halley and Smith were outstanding in the. forwards; ''■"■'

Y.M.O.A. B (6) y. SWIFTS (2). ■ I: This game was played at Seatoun, under the control of Mr. W. Roberts. It was a rather scrappy game,: Y.M.O.A. having the best of the play. Swifts at times treated the spectators to quite ' good snatohes of football, but on the whole their combination Svas not all that might bo desired. Swifts played with the -wind behind them first half, but Y.M.O.A. started to attack right away, and' after a quarter of an hour Paton opened their: scoring account.- Swifts failed to take advantage of the wind, and Paton scored for Y.M.O.A. again just before half, time. Y.M.C.A., 2; Swifts. 0. Swifts played better against iho wind than they did in the first spell, and raided their opponents' territory on lieveral occasions, calling on Evans to do his best. Eventually, ifroni a scramble in- front of the posts, E. Guise/succeeded in beating the goalkeeper, Onrley (centre-forward) ' got the only other goal that Swifts scored, while Paton and Henderson each added two nioro to y.M.CA. s score, making the total at the end of the game-Y.M.0.A., 6; Swifts, 2. Morris and Onsack were pro-, minent on the winning side, while E. Guiseand the right full-back were the best of the losing team. •■■.,.
