CROP STATISTICS AND REPORTS

Tho following estimated average yields per aero of wheat and oats for the season 11)19-20 have been compiled from reports furnished by stock inspectors of tho Department of Agriculture throughout the Dominion:— Wheat. Onts. ' Bushols Bushels

In accordance with the above estimates, the total yield of wheat for the Dominion should lie approximately UM.flflfl bushels, as ng-ainst an actual ' yin.ld of 0,507,020 bushels for the season l!)i8-10. The percentage of oat crop thrashed in 1018-10 wos 3">.'U of the total area under that crop. Assuming that a similar proportion is thrashed this year, tho total yield of grain should be "i.ji/.i.1W0 bushel's. The oats • hrash'vl in the previous season yielded 0,551,000 bushels. Canterbury .—Good crops. A late frost was experienced, but' the damage dono was slight. Rust showing in the northern districts, whilst isolated of the disease known as "tako all" have occurred 111 the central and southern portions.

Otago.— Crop 9 generally in good condition, but expected to be late. In Jfanlo. toto, Vincent and Lake counties crops poor and light. Southland.—Present weather is not very favourable, and crops are fairly light.
