Tho annual meeting of tho Wellington 6out.li group, Protestant Political Association, was held in St. Thomas's JTall, Newtown, last night. Mr. A. A. Whitelaw presided, and reported at length tho activities of tho group during the past twelve months. Satisfaction was expressed at tho results obtained by the association at tho general election. Tho talance-slieet, showjng a balance in hand, was adopted. Owing to several members of tho executive being unnblc to bo propent, it was decided to postpone tho election nf officers. The following resolution was keenly debated, and finally passed: "That it be a recommendation to tho members of our association to support tho principle, and endeavour to carry it into effect by every possible means, the fostering of more production and less consumption, with a view to (keeping down the cost of Irving'."
