MUNICIPAL HOUSING
TEE ACTIVITIES AT NORTHLAND.
A report regarding, the progress of the City Council's housing scheme at Northland was received by the. council last night from Mr. R. M'Kenzio, housing superintendent. Mr. M'Kenzio slated that since his tat report the roofs of three houses had been completed. The outside covering and sarking on another house was now finished and ready for the root. Tho foundations of another house had been put in and a start made with the framings. During last week he had l>een fortunate in receiving live truck loads of timber. Up till now only ouo truck of flooring had been received from tho country, consequently the work in- v side had b'een hampered. "The question of the supply of material will, I Sin hoping, be much easier very shortly, so that wo will be able to start in and finish the work, we have in hand, concluded Mi'. M'Kenzie. On the recommendation of the Housing Committee the council decided to make application for consent to the deviation of n portion of Queen's DrivS to enable certain lands to bo made available for housing purposes.
