FERRY STEAMER DELAYED
1 POOR COAL ON THE MAORI. (By Tclcjjranh—Press Association.) § ■ Christchurch, February 12. Tho ferry steamer Maori is temporarily held up at Lyttelton. Steam could not l>e raised to-night on account of the poor quality of tho coal, and eventually it was decided to recoal tho vessel with another class of coal. This will entail considerable labour, as a large quantity of coal has' to bo unloaded and reloaded, and it will be 3 a.m. or 4 a.m. beforo the steamer gets away for AVellington. , She has a very large number of passengers aboard, including the members of tho New Soutji Wales Slate Orchestra.
