WELLINGTON DEFEAT CHRISTCHURCII

POSTAL OFFICERS' MATCH

The cricket match between teams re- ' presenting the Christohurch and Wellington post offices was concluded nt the Basin Reserve yesterday 1 afternoon, the .■Wellington team being victorious bv nine wickets. AVhen nlav ceased on Tuesday, Wellington's first innings had produced 212 runs for the loss of six wickets. Wellington continued their strike yesterday morning, and were eventually all put out-for 233 Toms retired, suffering from the effects of an injury which he received on the instep the previous day, and which necessitated Jiiedical attention. The visitors made 1(34 in their second innings, Watt (40), Mansell (36 not out), Ford (27), and Cowlin (22) being the highest scorers. The Christchurch grand total was 301. and Wellington thus reouired to make 71 runs to win.
