9 DEFENCE OF UNITED STATES. Washington, February 10. In spite of 11 letter from President Wilson requesting that the Democratic members of Congress should not formulate ail attitude on the question of universal military training, the Democratic representatives in caucus adopted resolutions opposing legislation in favour of compulsory military training. President Wilson said it would bo best if the coming Democratic Convention fdrmulated the party's position on the question.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
