Owing to tho ; dislocation of shipping buyers from the ■South Island and Poverty Bay were unable .to attend the sate, with the . result that there was an absence of outj- side competition, except from Taranaki. The drought also had an effect on the ! Bale, and only selected bulls were keenly i competed for.
