THE GIFTS FUND. The Chfistmas Gifti Fund Committee met at tho Town Hnll last evening. Mr. A. Jlarryatt presided. It iva.9 reported that the sum of .£950 was in hand. Tho Indies' hockey tourlipy yielded Xlfl 10s.. the ball .£92, and Hip Sarage Chib effort £M. It was reported that tho Lyall Bay Surf Club had donated .£3 3s. towards a troasme Imnt, to be held at Lyall Buy this month. An announcement was made that a resident, who wished to remain anonymous, had donated a section at Miianiar to bo disnospd of for tliß fund.
Tlie "Charley's Aunt" Club are to frivo ii performance in the Grand Opera House on November 21. Also, there lire to l;o a military display, sporls, and ma relies through' the city by Highlanders.
