CABINET EXPECTED TO FACE
THE ISSUE
(R<?e. November 5, 7.25 p.m.) Sydney, November 5. The recent happenings in Russia- and Itiily have brought tho conscription iesue strongly to the front again. Throughout the Commonwealth there is an insistently growing demand that tho Federal Government should fairly face the position in view of tho steadily BhrinJdnpr yield of voluntary enlistments and the altered state of affairs on certain Battlefronte. Supporters of conscription contend that these combined factors Lave absolved the Government from its pledge not to resurrect tho issue. Much interest centres in the Cabinet meeting which is being held on Wednesday, when, the question will be dismissed. A dooisive pronouncement is anticipated.— Press Assn.
