Wedding at St. John's,

On Saturday, at St. John's Presbyterian Church, Willis Street, was celolirated the marriago of Miss Lilian Watt, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J otcr Watt, of Roseneath, and LancoGorporal Lewis MacGrcgor, fourth son c m T ir i Mrs - Andrew MacGregor, of Wellington. The Rev. Dr. Gibb was the officiating minister. The brido was dressed in cropo de chine draped with ninon and old lace, with veil and orange blossom. Her bridesmaid was Miss Amy West, who wore white organdi muslin, daintily trimmed with lace and foliage, and a black panne velvet*'hat. The best man was Mr. Gordon Griffln, of Wellington. A reception was given by Mr. and Mrs. Watt at tho Hataital Bowling Pavilion. Lance-Corporal MacGregor is a member of the Tweniyseventh Reinforcement.

General Richardson wishes everything to' be' done' by voluntary work, and thereforo thora will be no "fatigues." -' All the produoo will belong to the military authorities, and , will be used primarily by tho New Zealand hospitals and camps. Messrs. Cooper and Sons (the Wellington seedsmen) have presonted a quantity of seed and have offered : £20 for prizes. Tho _ War Contingent Association will receive monthly reports of tho work dono and the produce raised, and it will also award the prizes. The financial_ liability, of tho association will be limited to a sum of, say, £300 ; for the purchase of fowls, and a special donation of £100 towards this liability has been received from a well-wisher of tho" scheme.

Tho boys of the Taaniah Street Scliobl presented several attractive'exhibitions of Swedish drill and gymnastic exercises, and rendered several effective- choruses, under tho direction of the Rev. Brother Fidelis.. _ Miss Zolma Carroll received an undeniable encore for her recitations entitled "Going-On an Errand" and "My Shadow." The stallholders and their assistants were assiduous in their attention to visitors,'and report good business all through. The bazaar will remain open all this week.

Wedding in Thorndon Methodist

Although hurriedly arranged on account of his early departure, quite a pleasant evening was spent, during which Mr. Jones,' on behalf of tho parishioners, presented tho vicar with a money-belt and a gold wristlet-watch, as a slight token of their affection and esteem. The Sunday School children took the opportunity of presenting him with a fountain pen, khaki testament, and an airpillow, for all of which ho returned warm thanks.
