PRICES TO BE FIXED RATES ANNOUNCED Cabinet yesterday adopted the proposals submitted by the President of the Board of Trade (the Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald) for the enoouraging of wheat-growing in the Dominion. Tho only detail of importanco in tho scheme was the fixing of the prices. These have been fixed at . different rates for different months, aud for different varieties of wheat, as follow: — Wheat sold for delivery in February, March, and April— Pearl and velvet, ss. 9d. per bushel. Hunters, ss. Bd. per bushel. Tusoan and other varieties, ss. 7d. per bushel. An all-round increase of per bushel will be allowed cu wheat sold for delivery in May, a further riso of a halfpenny on wheat sold for delivery iu Juno, another halfpenny for July dolivery, and another halfpenny on wheat for delivery subsequent to July. It is calculated that these rates will make the average price for tjio year about ss. 10d. per bushel. The. price of flour is to be fixed at £15 par ton f.o.b. South Island ports. In tbe North Island the cost of carriage will have to be added. The price of brau is to bo £4 10s. per ton, and of pollard £6 per ton.
