At the meeing of the Dominion executive on Wednesday, ..the sum of .£SO was donated from the Catholic Field Service Fund to the Rev. Chaplain Segrief, S.M., of the hospital ship Marama. Very satisfactory reports were received from the Auckland Diocese in connection with Monsignor Gillan's organising tour. Mr. Burke, the executive delegate to 1 the Christchurch Catholic Congress, held recently, reported l that a most successful gathering of Catholics, under HisXLordehip Bishop Brodie, took place at tlia Colosseum. His Lordship intended to also travel his diocese in the interests of the federation. A motion of condolence with the general secretary, Mr. Geo. Girling-Butcher, in the recent loss of his son, Gunner Eric Girling-Butcher, was carried. The date of the' Dominion Council meeting was fixed for AVednesday, February 21. This meeting will take place at Auckland, and will be the first Dominion meeting held away from Wellington since advent of the Federation.
