The "Times's" correspondent at Petrograd states that tho evacuation of Gallipoli has unpleasantly impressed tho general public, though the news has been received calmly in naval and military circles. It had long been anticipated that this step was inevitable, because of the developments in tlie .Balkans. Tho defeat of tlie Turko-Bulg-arian armies will automatically determine tho possession of the Dardanelles. _ . Watt (Liberal), said that tho gallant troops who had been withdrawn trom Gallipoli deserved, and would'receive, all possible nonsideration and relief.
