DISAPPOINTED RECRUITS
OFF TO SYDNEY TO ENLIST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, September 30. "The authorities appear to think wo are dead, so wo are off: to Sydney to enlist," said one of a party of threo young trjen which left Wanganui to-day en route for Sydney. Ho proceeded to say t'hat ho and his mates had handed in. their names hero months ago, and passed the examination, but had never hoard further from tho Defence Department; so they had decided to go to Australia, knowing their services would be accepted there.
