INDICTABLE OFFENCES. Several indictable offences of a serious nature occunied tho attention of Sir. D. G. A. Cooper. S.M., in tho Magistrate's Court yesterday. Patrick Mayo, alias Henry Drew, alias John Mayne, was committed for trial on a, charge of breaking into the New Commercial Hotel on September 24. — . Andrew Julius Finlay. a well-dressed man, described as an American traveller, was committed, for trial on three charges of committing serious offences on boys in Wellington in July last. Mr. T. M. Wilford appeared for the accused. A youth of 16 years of age was committed to the. Supreme Court for sentence on a charge of committing a serious offence at Pahautanui. Mr. ®. G. Jcllicoe appeared for the prisoner. Another ix>y only 14 years of age. was committed for sentence for aiding the previous accused in the commission of the offence. Mr. D. S. Smith appeared for this accused. Noil Smith Turner was remanded_ to appear at Dunedin nn October i, in connection with his alleged failure to comply with the terms of a maintenanco order. /

For drunkenness. John Brown was fined 10s., in default to -undergo 4£ hours' imprisonment. A first offender for drunkenness was also dealt with.
