H.M.S. PHILOMEL
THREE DEATHS REPORTED,
The Defence Minister lias had a communication from Captain Hall-Thomp-son, of H.M.S. Philomel, which, as is generally known, is operating somewhere east of Suez. Captain Ha 1Thompson reports that tlio ing three members of the crew lost their lives in action against the Turks on September 2r»:-Georg, rh l ll.ps, ch.cf petty-officer; George Richard Talmay, leading seaman; and Brueo . Sydney Beagley, able seaman, all, men of the Roval Navy lent for service. witli tlifi Philomel. The tliree men died of I eat stroke. They were on the fitrciigth of two Maxim-gun crews which were landed from the ship to co-operate \uth forces ashore. ■
