Ho had apparently been sitting , down | when he was taken suddenly ill, and fell , 011, his face. One hand was in his pocket. • ' ■ , An inquest on the body of Dr. F. C. y Batchelor, whose body was found this' j morning, was opened this afternoon. Evidence was given.'by Dr. F; S. Bat-' • chelor that deceased, who underwent a J slight , operation about a fortnight ago, , was weak and easily tired, and had beon a little miserable owing to inability to .] do his work as usual. ' _ j The inquest has been adjourned till ( Saturday to enable Dr. Fitchett to ( make a post-mortem examination.' . ] TRAM ACCIDENT ENDS FATALLY, j Dunedin, September 2 V j , A man named Frederick Wailing, < wHo' - resided at Richardson Street, • St/ i Kikla,' and who met with 'a tramway i Jaccident a few'weeks ago, died at the ] Hospital to-day; The deceased was-a i married man with- a family, and was i 63 years of age. , 1 The evidence at the inquest showed 1 the deceased met with tlie accident - while alighting from a car, and suffered ' from concussion, the symptoms indjeat-' '• ing fracture of the base of the skull, i There were also signs of mental defici- j ency. , . • The inquest was'adjourned till Mpn- < day to secure evidence regarding ihe : accident.-
