QUARTERLY MEETING. Messrs. B. Keesing (Auckland), M. H, Instone (Canterbury), T. F. Grady, jun. (Hawke's Bay), P. Thompson (Marlborough), H. 0. Murray (Otagq), G. F. Smythe (Southland), W. Melody (Wanganui), and D. M. Kean (Wellington) were present at tlio quarterly meeting of the. council of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association, held on Wednesday evening. Mr. Keesing was voted to the chair. • The quarterly report stated that- in regard to the inter-island representative matches it was decided that consideration of whiit should he done be deferred to a more opportune time, the council expressing the opinion that it would be an advantage to teams if such matches could be arranged so as to include B grade players. The action of the Management Committee in communicating with the various associations and ■ voting 011 the opinions expressed by them that the New Zealand championship mooting, 1915, be not held, was endorsed. Tho question was raised as to whether any time limit had been fixed by tho Management: Committee in which replios to the appeal for fluids for an Anthony Wilding memorial should be received from clubs. It was announced that no time limit had been imposed. The council agreed that time sliould .be given until the season was fairly well advanced before steps were taken ,to remind clubs of tlie appeal. 'Regarding the Davis Oup Fund, it was reported tliat action had been taken to have tho amount of tlie fund separately stated in the Australasian Association's accounts, as the fund did not include amounts resulting, from matches played outside Australasia. The amount to tho credit of the fund on March 31 last was fllSl 17s. Bd. The school children's championships are not to bo lost sight of. At a later date the affiliated associations are to be requested to communicate witli the Neiv Zealand Association. Tlie report was adopted. ' The finance report showed receipts to tho-amount of £1 03. 6d., and payments to the amount of £G ss. The balanco at tlie Savings Bank was £568 9s. lid.; the Wilding Memorial Fund stood at £2 ss. 6d., and there was a balance of £6 13s. 6d. in tlie Bank of. Now Zealand. Mr. D. M. Kean moved-.—".That it bo. a recommendation to tlie Management Committee that it favourably consider the adoption of a uniform programme for all tournaments_ authorised by the New Zealand Association." This was seconded' by Mr. Melody and oarried. The chairman reported that he had been requested by the president of tlie Athletic Association to introduce to the council meeting tlie question of altering tho Basin Resorvo to permit trams to run 011 a straight lino through that ground. Combined sports bodies proposed waiting on tho Wellington "City Council to protest against tho suggested alterations, and tlie support of tho New Zealand Teainis Association was requested; It was decided tliat members of the council sliould • endeavour to attond the deputation fixed to wait 011 the council on September 2.
