Tho military correspondent of tie London "Times" publishes this description of an explosive bullet, of wliich large quantities i.re said to have been l'onnd on Austrian soldier^: —"An eight millimetre Mannlicher of Continental manufacture containing a composite bullet. The bullet consists of a thin steel envelope enclosing six different parts, one of which is a cnpro-niclcel chamber containing about eight grains of an extremely violent explosive mixture, consisting of chlorate and nitrate of potash, sulphide of antimony, and ground glass, sealed by a layer of plaster of Paris or similar cement. Tho construction and arrangement of tho remaining parts of the bullet are such as to allow of the relative movements necessary to cause detonation on impact of tho whole bullet." Mews.
