ST. JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION ACTIVE. At a- well-attended meeting of the committee of the St. John Ambulance Association, held at its office, 25 Panama Street, on Thursday, it was. unanimously decided that the local branch of the association should provide • the Hospital equipment for the. Fifth Reinforcements (2000 men). This is the first iustance of the local branch of the association performing this work, although all its lady members have either been assisting with the various distress funds or with the supplying of other equipments. This equipment will be for the use of tho Fifth Reinforcements at the base. All first aid workers, supporters of the Ambulance Association, as well as others interested, are invited to send suitable articles of clothing and such other hospital requirements (medical comforts, etc.) as they think frill be needed by our wounded and 6ick whilst in hospital. The packing and lettering on cases will be done by those interested in the work. All parcels are to he sent to the only packing depot, No. 2 Boulcott Terrace, off Boulcott Street, tho residence of one of the committee. It is probable that the equipment will be on public view for several days before it is shipned. Captain Maguire, resident medical superintendent of the Auckltmd Jlorpital, having obtained leave fropi the Hb6pitnL Board, is the medical officer in charge. Therefore it is his list of requirements- that the local branch of the St. John. Ambulance Association is supplying. A few of the articles required are pyjamas, balaclava caps, socks (largo and long), hot water bottles, clean old linen, boracic lint, a few clinical thermometers, sheets, and blankets.
