JOTTINGS FROM PROVINCIAL CENTRES. (From Oar Special Gorreepoiidentaj CARTERTON, Some ninety persons attended a Bible Class_ "rally" held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Hall on Thursday afternoon. There were, nearly fifty visitors from Masterton, Mr. James M'Gregor prosiding. The business of the conference hold recently at Gore was discussed, and- addrosses were given by Misses L. and M. Gregor and 0. Rayner (Master ton) 5 Miss Harvey (Carterton), and Mr. Maule (Masterton).- Arrangements were made for the travelling secretary to form other classes throughout the Wairarapa at the end of the present month.

A proposal to do away with the Central and Finance Committees and to set up District Committees to administer the affairs of the board was negatived on the casting vote of the chairman. Acting on the recommendation'of the District Health Officer, the local Inspector of Health has seized a quantity of infants', food from wholesale and retail stores. ~ / A large number of visitors Lave already arrived for the show, which opens to-morrow.
