OBSERVATIONS IN AUSTRALIA. Sydney, February 15. The solar eclipse was well observed. Its features were a very large sunspot and a group of smaller spots, and a distinct view of a range of lunar mountains. . • [The centre line of the eclipse, which was not visible in Now Zealand, passed over Western Australia, entering that State about 200 miles north of Perth and thence north-eastward to Port Darwin.
