The forty-first' annual meeting of tlia Wellington District . Institute of the New Zealand Educational Institute was held last night..' Mr. J. Tamblyn presided,and tlioro were between forty and fifty members present. Officers were electcd as follow:— President, Mr. J. B. Hopkirk; 'vicepresidents, Miss A. A. Dowdeswell and Mr. A. N. Bairns; treasurer, Mr. J. C ; Burns; secretary, Mr.'W. W. Rountrec\ f auditor, Mr. O. Bary; Management Committee, Misses P. Myers, \nl. Sinclair, and Messrs. J. Tamblyn and E.', M. Balflachoy. Mt. .Tamblyn gave notice to move at tho next meeting"That we approach' the University- Senate arid ask them to includc 'Education' in the list or honours subjects; and that the conditions' of the doctorato of literature should;bo altered to permit of the presentation of a thesis embodying the results of original research m educational practice or literature."
