RETURNS FOR FEBRUARY. Railway traffic returns for the fernweeks ended February 28 ai'o published; in last night's "Gazette." Following aro particulars of revenue fot the four 'weeks, as compared with tlio corresponding period in 1913;-"- . Feb., Feb., 1914, 1913. £ & North Island lines ... 888,876 173,864 South Island lines ... 1365.70j! 116,8(1 ' Passenger revenue on the North Island lines amounted to £83,082 in February, 1914, as against £72,006 in February last year, while the totals of l'eveinie from goods traffic are respectively £108,G44 (for 1914) and. £88,2(12. On the South Island line s pa-ssmigcr revenue totalled £49,5(11, as ttgamst £43.014 in February, 1.913, ami grods traffic rtiVeimo £75,390 for February, 191.4, as against £02,813 for the corresponding period in 1913. Tho total number of passeiiftOTS carried increased, in the case, of tlio North Island lines, from 56G k 804 in February, 1913, to 613,798 in February, 1914, while on tho South Island lines the number of passengers increased from 439,685 in February, MS, to 456,956 in February, 1914.
