CITY COUNCIL ACTION. • The question of the remission of rates 011 certain Wellington sports grounds was boforo the City Council last night again, "Tho Finance Committee presented tho following report:— . "That they havo fully considered tho various applications made for tho remission of rates 'on sporfs •grounds.in,the'city, and havo to recommend that tho genoral rate ■ only Be remitted on the following conditions:—l. That tho Athletic Tark and Association ground at Kilbirnie bo, thrown open to tho public ;when» not actually being-used . by; tho proprietors. 2. That tho tennis courts and bowling greens affected By this ■ remission be open to tho public, but Jiot for play, and only lvlien play is in progress."
