PEACH SHIPMENT STOPPED.
: GRUB DISCOVERED. ! (By. Telegraph.—Fress Association.) , ' Nelson, March 27. Mr. Hudson, president of the Fruitgrowers' Association, has received a telegrain from -Mr.- Kirk to tho effect that a cable message lias been received, stating that the authorities refused to permit lauding, of peaches—for tho reason that au unidentified grub was discovered —being forwarded to Vancouver. It is thought locally ,that this, may. bo the grub that gets into tho, stem of certain, varieties, and which is very difficult. to detect. The, greatest caro was exercised over tho shipment. As nothing' is said regarding tlie pears, it is presumed they were lantisd. Tho shipment was, approximately, five hundred cases of peaches and two hundred of pears. ■
