ATHLETIC SPORTS.

CRICKET HARBOUR BOARD OLUB. There was a good attendance of members and friends at tho Harbour Board Crickot Club's smoke concort last evening. Mr. A. V. Hale-Munro presided. The toast-list was as follows:—"Wellington Harbour Board's Cricket Club and Miniature Rifto Club," proposed by Mr. Munro, and responded to by Messrs. H. Clarke and J. Russell; "Harbour Board Employees," proposed by Mr. Grindloy, response, Mr. W. Becker. Mr. A. Davis proposed the toast of tbo "Junior Cricket Association," to which Mr. B. L. vSalmon. replied. The. following contributed to the evening's entertainment: —Messrs. Culverwell, H. Sullivan, E. C. Luff, H. Williams, G. Wood, W. PhyperSj H. Munro, G. T. Lcydcn, E. Williams,. W. Burrows, and M. Allen. , LAWN TENNIS; THE NEW ZEALAND CONTROL. The Management Committee of the New Zealaua Lawn Tennis Association met on Thursday night. The meeting was attended by Messrs. R. St. J. Beere, H. M. Gore, P. White-Parsons, A. G. Henderson, D. M. Koan, and M. E. Denniston. Mr. Beero presided and welcomed Mr. Denniston to the committee as a new member. A letter was received from the Australian Association, asking for a refund of part cost of cables in connection with' th© visit of the English Davis Cup tejyn to New Zealand. Tho secretary was instructed to reply to the effect that the visit to New Zealand wag an essential part of the tour, that the Australian Association undertook the' liability for the tour and received a largo share of the proceeds, and that the enterprise of the -New Zealand Association gave the Australian Association a profit, while the cost of tho cable was a legitimate part of tho expenses of the tour.

The resignation of the Hon. F. M. B. Fisher as chairman of the Management Committee was received with regret, and the secretary was instructed to write to him expressing the appreciation of the committee for the services which he lias rendered the association for many j-ears past. Mr. A. ,W. Young, delegate for Otago, was appointed to tic vacancy subject to his consent. The Otago Association, wrote to the effect that the Carisbro'ok Gricket ground would bo available for the NeW Zealand ■ Championship Meeting, 1914. The secretary reported that no had written to the Otago Association asking for further information on the matter. The - committee deferred consideration of the location of the next New Zealand meeting until this information comes to band.

VETERANS' MATCH.. Tho annual veterans' match between the Thorndon'and the Wellington Clubs resulted in an easj win for the latter club, who' liavo now won four times in' succession. This match was made interesting through the fact that no player engaged was less than 75 years of age. The aggregate ages of tho Wellington rink totalled 309 years, and that of tho Thorndon players 310 years. Tho scores wero as follow (tho age of each player being given in 'parentheses) :— Wellington—G.
