MEXICAN ARMIES CLASH.

Bs Tsleerarli—Press Association—Oooyrlehl Torreon, March W. General Villa, with twelvo thousand troops, fought a bloody battle in the ! neighbourhood of Gomez Palacio, a village) near here. Velasco, tho Federal commander, in ail attempt to check Villa's march, left Torreon and gavo battle. After a fierce engagement, in which there wero heavy losses, Velasco retreated, leaving villages afire, after a he,ivy artillery duel. Tho hospitals arc full of wounded. Torreon is still holding out. (Rec. March 25, 9.20' a.m.) Washington, March 24. Reports arc reaching tho State Department that heavy fighting is going on round Torreon. Tho Federal losses aro reported to total seven hundred. The rebels aro reported to bo steadily gaining ground, and it is bolieved that thc.y are certain to capture the city.
