Tho Hon. W. F. Massey (Prime Minister) will leave for Christchurch this evening, and to-morrow will go on to Dunedin, accompanied by tho Hon. Jas. Allen, who is at Little River to-day. J. ho Hon. I!. H, Rhodes will return to-day from New Plymouth, and the Hon. A. L. Ilerdman will probably return from Groyinouth, by way of Christchurch, tomorrow morning. Tho other Cabinet Ministers are in Wellington. The Hon, W. H. Ilerries will probably pay a visit to Marlborough this week. The death occurred on Saturday morning at the Manse, Pirie Street, of Misß Annie Elliott, only sistor of tho Rov. J. Kennedy Elliott, pastor of the, Kent Terrace Presbyterian Church, and aunt of Dr. Elliott, of this city. The deceased lady, who has been in poor health for several years, was -a native _of Belfast (Ireland), and came to Wellington over twenty years ago to join her brother. Tho deceased gentleman was born in Central Otago 3-1 years ago, and was educated at tho Otago Boys' High School and Edinburgh University. Ho was at ono time medical superintendent of W-hangarei Hospital, and subsequently he liad charge of tho hosplto.l at Broken Hill, New South Wales. Dr. Mackenzie, who was unmarried, was travelling by steamer from Melbourno to Perth when he died. Word has been received that Mr. G. P. V. Anson, son of Dr. Anson, has taken a second-class in tho_ Natural Science Tripos at Cambridge University.
