THE N Z.R.U. RULES/INTERPRETATIONS, AC. FURTHER ADDITIONS. The newly-appointe<l management comtaittee of the New Zealand Rugby Union held its first meeting last evening. There were present Messrs. CI. Dixon, R. Isaacs, E. AYylic, J. IT. I.aughton, and J. D. Avery (secretary). Two delegates were out of town, and another (Mr. N. Gnlbraith) was absent on account of illness, and tlis necpssai'y Quorum of five did not attend. It was decided, nevertheless, to transact the business in hand, subject to confirmation at n futuro •meeting. The election of a chairman was postponed, but Mr. O. The following letter in reference to tho S-ecommendations was received from Mr. C. J. D. Marriott (secretary of the English Rugby Union):— "I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter of January 3, with the recommendations fronr your council. 'A.' Tf it is a knock-on it would be against the rules for the plaver to recover the ball , and proceed, but the question whether it is a lcnoclc-on or not nnist be left to the referee. 'B.' . This point, has already been brought before our mmml general meeting'and rejected. 'C'.' Tho advantage rule does not apply when a ball thrown out from touch does not alight nt light angles. "I would further add that my committees direct me to say that it is within the province of your union or any other club affiliated to* tho.
