Association,which will be held in June, promises to outrival; aiiy previous ey.ent of the kind .that'has yet been .attempted by the 1 , society. .. To meet the ever-dncreitsinj;- deman(ls'for space, Ixith for .competitive aiul trade exhibits, it has been found necssi:y to supplement the permanent buildings hy the addition of an extra 10.1)00 square, feet nf floor ■ space, half of which wSI, bo available for letting. The new .building .scheme, ..when completed, will create miite a-transformation of those portions" of tho grounds used for the winter show exhibits. Facing the main entrance the old corrugated iron iri.utaEe !>m .been Replaced by substantial ferroconcrete front arid side walls, conuectina with the ■ machinery hall, which adds -fluently to the .appearance of the building brsides providing splendid facilities for gate-keeper?, and a substantial addition to tho space avdilable for exhibition purposes. -It has been found necessary to extend, tile dairy, produce shed, erected -two years'ago, by adding another forty feet to its length. When completed this building will contain 9C30 feet of floor space. The present roadway running between the two main buildings will lie : absorbed- ill-the-present machinery■. hall. These.alterations end additions will-en-tail an outlay of at least .£IOOO and the association' is to.be congratulated ■ upon maintaining the progressive spirit that it has been noted .for in. the past. [ In oMer to furtHev. popularise the winter show ! and extend its educative influence, the committee has provided all school children 1/ehveen tho nges of five I and fourteen years, within a radius of fllfty" miles' of I'almerstoii North, with free tickets to the winter, exhibition, oncl it is reported that teachers and chairmen of school committees are entering lieartily into Ihe scheme,, which will result in a very :large attendance at the show. 'This' year's, schedule provides for sever?! -new - 'divisions, prominent among which are classes for fat stock, amateur photography, and art needlework. Notwithstanding the additional space provided it Is expected that there will be none to spare "when, all requirements /have been met.' As usual the Agricultural Department will put nn its comprehensive and instructive exhibit, and this year the show committee will ,be able to provide all the room required for the nroper staging of the various features of the display.
