LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

ATHLETIC CLUB'S-MEETING. Tlio annual meeting of llie Athletic League Football Club was' held in the Trocadero Hutel last evening, Sir. W. Eager .presiding. There was a good attendance, and a number of new members ivoro enrolled.

The first annual report states that the club has had a fairly successful season from a playing point of view, and also financially. During the year 25 playing members and/ 15 honorary members were enrolled. The expenses in connection with tlio year's work had been very heavy, all the revenue being expended, but -although there wero no funds at, present to tho credit of tho club it was gratifying to note that' 'there were 110 outstanding accounts or liabilities. The club played eight matches during the season, only suffering one defeat. Tile thanks of tho club are due to the president (Mr. A. Linley) for his donation of two gold medals for competition. These were woirby Mr. .T. Weaver (most improved forward) and Mr. G. Jiaskeville (most improved back). The coming'season promised to be a very' gcoil one, and the League requests all clubs to form junior clubs, or rather teams, during this season, and this is-a matter for consideration. Tho report went on t'o state' that tho Leaguo washampered for want of suitable grounds in Wellington, and so the olub must cooperato in endeavouring to overcome this difficulty. Tho report was adopted. The ,election. of. officers for -the ensuing season' resulted as , follows:—President, Mr. A. Linley; vice-presidents—held pver; secretary, Mr. A. Washer; treasurer, Mr. D. Casey; Management Committee, Messrs. T. Richards. J. Bradley, C. E. Chapman, A. Murphy, C. Lawlor, G, Kelly, and J. Weaver: Selection Committee, Messrs. G. Bradlev, _W. Kelly, J. Weaver; delegates to W-ellington League, Messrs. H. Brown, A. Washer, and L. Webb.

THE KETONE CLUB. The annual meeting of tho Petono League Football. Club was held ait tho "Chronicle" Buildings last evening. There was a good. attendance, and Mr, 11. R. Wright occupied tho chair. The. report .indicated that; progress last feason, ill spito of the fact "that a late stort hart boen mode, had proved most satisfactory. The club had been successful in winning the "Seigel Cup." Tho financial statement showed a credit balanco of J270 Gs. lid., in which was in oluded a substantial grant from the New Zealand Council. The report concluded by _ thanking Messrs. Brice ajiounced that ..the league wore going to do their utmost to c«uter for younger players this season. It was decided to open the season with a match 'against the Hutt team <■. Saturday woek.
