CHAMPIONSHIP REGATTA.
I "Still they come" _Ts the cry of those officials of the Wellington Rowing Association who hjivo been detailed to meet tho visiting competitors in Saturday's championship regatta. The visitors ara arriving fast now by train and steamer, and groups of lean, brown-faced men, wearing parti-coloured favours, and accompanied by .very much interested nnd diminutive coxswains, are to be seen comi nfj to nnd from the local boat-sheds; and enjoying those reunions with their very good friends tho enemy, so dear to tho. heart of tlio travelling athlete. As has been notified in our advertising columns, tho first event of the day, tlio maiden fours, is scheduled for 11.30 a.m., and the big race, tho champion fours, for 1.30 p.m. A blue flag flown from tho G.P.O. at 9 o'clock on Saturday morning will denoto that tho northerly course will be used, and a red flag that the regatta will bo held in town. The steamer arrangements aro as advertised.
